At 8:13 a.m. Sept. 1, Melrose Police responded to Lynn Fells Parkway in the area of Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School for report of a dog injured by a vehicle. Police discovered that it was not a dog but a duck that had been injured, and the caller was reportedly performing first aid.

9:50 a.m.: Main Street, report of a phone stolen Aug. 31.

3:12 a.m.: North Mountain Avenue, report of a loud group of people. A 22-year-old Melrose man was summonsed on a charge of disturbing the peace after police were called to the home a second time.
