Funeral Arrangements Made For Dina DeCecca

Forty-year-old mother of two died in a bicycling accident on Martha's Vineyard on Tuesday this week.

Funeral arrangements have been scheduled for Melrose resident Dina DeCecca, who died tragically on Tuesday this week in a bicycling accident on Martha's Vineyard.

DeCecca's funeral will be held from Gately Funeral Home on Monday, July 12 at 10:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church later that morning at 11:30 a.m. and interment at Wyoming Cemetery. The wake will be held at Gately Funeral Home on Sunday, July 11 from 2-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to a fund set up for DeCecca's two daughters: the DeCecca Children's' Fund, c/o Melrose Cooperative Bank, 638 Main St. Melrose, 02176.

According to DeCecca's obituary, the 40-year-old Queens, NY native moved to Melrose in 2001 and worked for Turner's Seafood & Grill for the past four years, in addition to volunteering at her daughters' elementary school, the Hoover School.

DeCecca died on Tuesday when she lost control of her bicycle on a sidewalk in Vineyard Haven and fell under an 18-wheeler traveling in the same direction, according to the Massachusetts State Police.
