Graffiti Found on Beebe School, Milano Senior Center in Melrose
At 12:13 p.m. Oct. 13, Melrose Police responded to Beebe School on Foster Street for a report of vandalism. The caller reported graffiti on the Beebe School, and an empty spray paint can was found on the lawn at Beebe Estate. Police found damage to the school building and van, as well as at Milano Senior Center. DPW called to tend to graffiti.
'Squirrel Cooked' on Power Lines in Melrose
At 7:13 a.m. Oct. 12, Melrose Police responded to Tremont Street after a caller thought some overhead power line wires may be burning. However, "there was no fire, just a squirrel that got himself cooked," reads the log.
Oct. 11
6:39 p.m.: West Wyoming Avenue near Bob's Market, report of an allegedly drunk man in the area. The man was taken home in a taxi to Stoneham.
11:53 p.m.: Franklin Street near Steel House, report of teens causing a disturbance. Police spoke with the group of people and they agreed to settle down for the night.
Oct. 12
8:44 a.m.: Everett Street, report of damage to a sidewalk.
9:14 a.m.: Owego Park, report of damage to a vehicle. The caller reported that someone spray painted his car.
11:47 a.m.: A person visited the police station to report a larceny at Mt. Hood Golf Course/credit card fraud.
2:53 p.m.: Bruegger's Bagels on Main Street, report of vandalism.
8:06 p.m.: Lynn Fells Parkway, caller reported damage to her son's bike.
Oct. 13
12:03 a.m.: A person visited the police station to report tagging found on the back of Shaw's Supermarket. Police confirmed there was graffiti on the building.
1:15 a.m.: Walgreens on Main Street, report of shoplifting. However, police could not find any evidence to support shoplifting claim.
8:29 a.m.: Shaw's Supermarket on Essex Street, report of graffiti. Graffiti had been reported night before.
12:35 p.m.: A 31-year-old Melrose man was summonsed on a charge of assault and battery.
6:31 p.m.: City Hall on Main Street, report of vandalism in City Hall parking lot.
7:06 p.m.: Windsor Communities on Banks Place, report of motor vehicle accident.
7:42 p.m.: Upham and Lebanon Streets area, report of accident.
