Yes, albeit in a more restrictive, cautious manner.
Melrose is adhering to state guidelines and recommendations when it comes to trick-or-treating this year. Usual social distancing measures apply, including not traveling in large groups and keeping 6 feet of distance between others not in your household.

The state also recommends carrying hand sanitizer with you and staying home if you aren't feeling well.
For people handing out treats, the state recommends lining up pre-packaged treats outside your house to minimize interactions or washing hands with soap and water in between handing out treats.

Everyone should be wearing masks — not just Halloween masks, but ones effective at stopping the spread of the virus.
There are also no large indoor parties, including crowded haunted houses.
Melrose is not hosting any downtown trick-or-treat events this year, but the city will be sponsoring Wicked Melrose's Rise Of The Pumpkin People. Residents and businesses are encouraged to decorate for the season with a pumpkin or scarecrow display between Oct. 17 and Halloween.
