ICYMI: Allegedly Drugged Out Driver Nearly Runs Over Melrose Cops
William Dotolo, 34, of East Falmouth, was arrested on a handful of charges pertaining to the incident.

Two Melrose Police officers were nearly mowed down by a driver they say was operating under the influence of heroin on Monday afternoon.
William Dotolo, 34, of East Falmouth, also allegedly crashed into a fire hydrant, and continued to drive away despite multiple flat tires.
He has been charged with OUI, possession of class A drugs, reckless operation, and leaving the scene of an accident.

According to the statement from Melrose Police, officers observed a black 2011 Infiniti G25 drift across lanes on Lebanon Street.
At that point it started heading in the direction of the two officers, who had to leap out the way to avoid getting hit. One officer was reported injured, and the aforementioned fire hydrant was severely damaged when Dotolo allegedly slammed into it.

Police say they arrested Dotolo after they found him stalled on Porter Street with his car’s airbags deployed.
