Klippings to Host Cut-A-Thon in Melrose to Benefit Alzheimer's Association

Here are five things going on in the Melrose area from Oct. 19-20:

1. Klippings Salon is hosting their first annual Cut-A-Thon at 9a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at the salon, 444B Main St., Melrose, according to an event posting on Melrose Patch. Proceeds benefit Alzheimer's Association.

2. The Boo at the Zoo kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at Stone Zoo, 149 Pond St., Stoneham, according to an event posting on Melrose Patch.

3. The FOOGI 5K Haunt Jaunt is set for 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at Oak Grove Community Building, 6 Grove St., Malden, according to an event posting on Malden Patch. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and costs $20 to sign up.

4. The Malden Reads Community Jamboree is slated for 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Salemwood School, 529 Main St., Malden, according to an event posting on Malden Patch.

5. There is a Malden High Homecoming 2013 luncheon planned for 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at Malden High School, 77 Salem St., according to an event on Malden Patch.
