Longtime Melrose Resident and Police Officer Promoted To Sergeant
Brian E. Ladner is a patrol officer no more.

A statement from Melrose Police says after six years in the department, Brian E. Ladner has been level-upped from patrol officer to sergeant, as of a June 10 ceremony at City Hall.
Ladner has lived in Melrose for about 10 years. He’s a graduate of Malden High School, class of ‘93, and went on to receive a master’s degree in criminal justice at Boston University in 2010.

He has also spent 13 years in the Marine Corps Reserve, and completed two tours of duty in Iraq, according to Melrose Police.
