Former Melrose City Councilor and School Committee member, Monica Medeiros, has endorsed Caroline Colarusso for US Congress in the 5th District against Katherine Clark saying, “Caroline is a strong leader who always puts the people she represents first. The partisan bickering in Washington has done nothing for us here at home,” said Medeiros. “It's time we sent a new voice to fight for us, and Caroline Colarusso is just the person to do the job.”

“Caroline will be a strong voice for us,” said Medeiros. “As City Councilor in Melrose while Caroline was a Selectwoman in neighboring Stoneham, we worked closely together to fight for responsible development of the Weiss Farm site. Caroline put the people whom she represented at the local level first. That’s what we need in Washington – a representative who will put our needs first, not those of her political party.”

“The ultimate compliment is to have a colleague, someone who has walked in your shoes, endorse you,” said Colarusso. “Monica has been a dedicated public servant in Melrose and has earned the long time respect of many Melrosians. I deeply appreciate her endorsement in this race.”

“Caroline and I forged a very collaborative relationship,” Medeiros went on to say. “We share not only a commitment to fiscal responsibility, but also the experience of juggling the challenges of caring for our elderly parents while serving in public office.”

Her keen ability to identify root causes of problems and propose fixes is something I admire. I respect her courage and her drive to challenge the status quo to find solutions. Please join me in voting for Caroline Colarusso for US Congress.”
