Melrose Agencies Partner Together to Organize Vaccine Clinics

Melrose Organizations Partner Together to Organize Vaccine Clinics for Older Adults

A great community collaboration took place last week in Melrose to help older adults receive their COVID-19 vaccines. Melrose Housing Authority (MHA) and the Melrose Board of Health (BOH) worked through the State’s Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA) to offer on-site COVID vaccine clinics at the two Melrose Elderly Housing buildings, located at the McCarthy House, 910 Main Street, and the Steele House, 1 Nason Drive.

Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES) Resident Services Coordinators—who work at both buildings—helped out to make sure all residents in the buildings would have an opportunity to be vaccinated. The MVES staff worked to pre-register folks and were in contact with MHA and the Melrose BOH around planning and coordinating the event. More than 150 individuals were vaccinated. It was a great illustration of community partners working together for the betterment of Melrose’s seniors.
