Melrose Deemed Top-15 Most Sought After Location
A major real estate firm says Melrose saw a bigger increase in home sales last year than almost every other MA town.

Here’s some encouraging news for Melrose residents hoping to sell their home in the foreseeable future.
The latest numbers from McGeough Lamacchia Reality Inc. place Melrose as the 13th “hottest” town in Massachusetts, with regards to its increase in 2014 home sales, juxtaposed with 2013.

The full report from the agency shows 410 Melrose homes changed hands in 2014, marking a more than 6 percent increase from the previous year. The median price was almost $430,000, a more than 5 percent jump up from 2013.
The top five “hottest” towns in 2014, according to McGeough Lamacchia, were Lowell, Scituate, Waltham, Centerville, and Chicopee.
