Melrose Fire 5K Gets Donation From Fitzgerald PT

Fitzgerald Physical Therapy Associates is pleased to announce that they were able to donate $1,500 to the Melrose Fire 5K EMS Scholarship Fund! The funds were raised through registrants of the Fitzgerald PT/Melrose Fire Virtual 5K run/walk held on December 6th as well as through donations to the cause.

The funds donated will go to the Melrose Fire Department Boston University EMS Scholarship Fund. This will allow a Melrose, MA graduating Senior to attend Boston University’s Emergency Medical Technician Program. Boston University is one of the nation’s top ranked universities has been training Emergency Medical Technicians for over 20 years. This scholarship fund was started with the hopes that the recipients will one day join the Melrose Fire/EMS Department.

These funds were greatly needed as the annual Melrose Fire 5K (always held on Father’s Day) was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic this past year.

This donation and cause were especially near and dear to the Fitzgerald's hearts, as Sean is an 18-year Lieutenant with the Watertown, MA Fire Department.

“We are so excited to be able to donate to such a great cause! This is an amazing way to give back to our local fire department and a student in need” says Dr. Holly Fitzgerald, owner and President of Fitzgerald Therapy Associates.
