Melrose Football Playoff Opponent, Date Set
The Red Raiders begin the road to defend their Super Bowl championship. Bundle up.
MELROSE, MA — The defending Div. 4 Super Bowl champions will begin their road to a repeat performance in Gloucester Friday night. Melrose takes on the Fishermen at 7 p.m. in the first round of the Div. 4 North playoffs.
Melrose, which went undefeated last season, enters the contest as the seventh seed with a 4-3 record. Second-seeded Gloucester is 6-1.
Fans going to Gloucester better bundle up. Friday temperature's are expected to be cold, and Gloucester's field can get freezing pretty quickly. A major storm could be setting in early this weekend, too.

The winner will play the winner of Friday night's contest between North Reading and Revere.
