MELROSE, MA — There won't be any Fourth of July fireworks in town this year, but the city is still offering ways to celebrate America's birthday.

The annual July 4th Bike & Carriage Parade is from 10 - 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 4 at the Common. The parade is free - you don't even have to register this year. All kids who participate will get a ribbon after.

There will also be free face painting, games and activities. The Seven Mile Church is providing concessions.
