Melrose Historical Commission Shines Light On Black History Month

MELROSE, MA — The Melrose Historical Commission will recognize Black History Month by shining a light on the city's sometimes-painful African-American past.

The commission is posting content on its social media channels bringing forgotten history into focus.

"Throughout this series, we hope to call attention to the centrality of the Black experience in the shaping of our city, and of how our historic structures can be used to tell that story," commission Chair Ward Hamilton said.
