Melrose Sees Some Improvement, Drops From Red Classification
Coronavirus cases continue to mount, but the positive test rate has dipped back below 5 percent.

MELROSE, MA — Melrose has gone from red back to yellow in the state's coronavirus map released Thursday, marking an improvement in the city's fight against the virus,
Melrose's positive test rate dropped more than a percentage point from 5.72 to 4.52 percent. The average number of positive cases per 100,000 is at 58.4
There have been 237 COVID-19 cases in the previous two weeks, bringing the total to 1,330 since the start of the pandemic.

The Melrose Public Schools testing program last week was more good news: Only less than half of 1 percent of 1,532 students and staff tested positive.
