Melrose to Battle Tewksbury in State Football Semifinals

The Melrose High School football team takes on undefeated Tewksbury in the MIAA State Division 3 semifinals at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at Cawley Stadium in Lowell.

Melrose advanced to the state semifinals by beating Woburn 31-7 in the Northwest Division 3 title game on Nov. 15 in Melrose.

On the path to the finals, Melrose opened the playoffs by beating Burlington 47-28 on Nov. 1 in Melrose in the quarterfinals. The Red Raiders followed up that performance with a semifinals victory over Arlington, winning 49-7 on Nov. 8 in Melrose.

Meanwhile, the Redmen of Tewksbury High won 34-21 over Marblehead last weekend.
