Melrose Woman, 25, Dies While Snorkeling In Florida Keys

MELROSE, MA — A 25-year-old Melrose woman died Sunday while snorkeling in the Florida Keys, authorities said.

Katherine Boukharov was pulled from the water of Bahia Honda State Park after several people witnessed her motionless, according to the Monroe Country Sheriff's Office. She was pronounced dead at Fishermen's Hospital in Marathon, Florida.

Police said foul play is not suspected. Authorities are awaiting autopsy results.

Boukharov attended Melrose High School and attended college, according to her social media pages. The Miami Herald reported she was visiting Florida as a tourist.
