The NEWIEE Awards Gala traditionally recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of women leaders in the fields of energy and environment. The Rising Star award was created in 2016 in honor of well-known environmentalist Allison Smith who lost her life tragically in February 2015. In honor of Allison, NEWIEE created the “Rising Star Award” for women who have demonstrated a commitment to and positive impact on her field, both professionally and in her personal endeavors.
Eugenia Gibbons exemplifies this award in her daily life and as a community we could not be more proud that she is being honored for her hard work and dedication.
