I have four friends who are running for Mayor of Melrose. All of them are solidly qualified, big hearted, adept individuals, however, the candidate who is landing my vote is Mike Zwirko.
Mike and I met in an early voting line at City Hall in 2016. He had noticed a specific magnet on my car on the way in and struck up a conversation with me about Mount Desert Isle. Our conversation zigzagged through seven or eight topics that night and we haven’t stopped talking since. That’s the kind of guy that Mike is- neighborly, curious, reflective.

I want a mayor who will lead from day one. Mike has established himself as a leader in this city without having to be a “politician.” He makes decisions, sometimes difficult ones, that are not easy to adjust to but are made in the best interest of the community. Mike openly campaigned for an override in 2015 when it wasn’t popular but just as necessary as the one we recently passed. Your door may have been knocked on this spring by Mike Zwirko because once again he was out supporting this override, for this city, for our kids, for our future.
Mike is visible, accessible, creative and loves this city. He’s getting my vote because I trust him to spend Melrose’s money wisely and sustainably, from taking us to new levels of business on Main Street to solving dire problems that may arise on Brazil Street. Mike Zwirko is my candidate for Mayor of Melrose. Have a conversation with Mike!
