Nonprofit Pays Bail For 'Dangerous' Melrose Sex Offender

The Massachusetts Bail Fund paid $30,000 to secure the release of Tyler Jacquard, 34, who is accused of exposing himself to young girls.

MELROSE, MA — A Cambridge-based nonprofit paid the $30,000 bail for a Melrose man with a long history of sex crimes.

Tyler Jacquard, 34, is a convicted, Level 3 sex offender who is awaiting trial after being accused of exposing himself to girls as young as 13 at a shopping center in Lynnfield in June. The Massachusetts Bail Fund, which seeks to free "individuals serving pre-trial sentences," paid Jacquard's bail, according to Channel 25 News, which first reported this story.

The nonprofit did not respond to requests for comment from Channel 25 News.

Jacquard is described as "dangerous" by officials and has been arraigned more than 20 times for sex offenses. In 2018 he was accused of standing over a sleeping woman in her Endicott College dorm room in Beverly, a crime a prosecutor called, "incredibly disturbing."

Last year police said he spent multiple days standing by a woman's Melrose apartment watching her as she walked her dog. In 2018 for he was accused of peering into the dorms at Wellesley College and in 2014 for he was accused of masturbating in his car in Davis Square.
