Quarter Of Melrose Fully Vaccinated

Progress is being made as well over 12,000 of the city's residents are at least partially vaccinated.

MELROSE, MA — The city's residents are making progress in their vaccination efforts, with just over a quarter of the population having been fully vaccinated.

The Department of Public Health's weekly COVID-19 and vaccination statistics were released Thursday night. They showed 7,631 Melrosians — or 26 percent of the city — having received either both doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Forty-three percent of the city has been partially vaccinated, meaning 12,376 residents have been jabbed at least once.

Meanwhile, the city's positive test rate fell from 2.91 percent to 2.37 percent. The average daily incidence rate per 100,000 is now at 21.7.
