Red Hatters April 2021

by Shirley Rabb

We are RED HATTERS and this is not an April fools joke. Our usual outfits are Red Hats; and purple outfits. Once a year you will see a member don her Purple Hat, wear a red outfit and celebrate her birthday month.

If you happen to see a group of Hatters, and one, or more, are wearing a purple hat, take the time to go over and wish that lady a happy birthday. You will make her feel good and you will meet a group of happy ladies out enjoying themselves.

On April 14th we celebrated our monthly meeting, as we have these past months, at Brother's in Wakefield. The food was great, the talk exciting and the smiles around the table made us happy to be together. All members have had two shots against the Virus and we were ready to go. But go where?

Things are looking a bit more promising with the Covid numbers going down and more places opening. We still were looking for more small venues to open but we are still pretty much in the restaurant mod; but we keep hoping.

On April 28th. nine members went to Belle Isle restaurant in Winthrop, just over the Revere line. This has always been an excellent spot. It was a good day with the sea outside the windows, and the view across the water.
Blue skies and boats docked and bobbing with the tide made it seem summer like.

The food, mostly seafood, is always fresh and tasty. Choices of fried, baked or broiled, with sides of fries, onion rings, rice, coleslaw and smiles. It was a happy day to be out and one we always seem to enjoy wherever we go as a group.

There were people waiting in line as we were leaving, and the waiting flock was also outside waiting also.

(not my car!)

We are still staying safe with masks on,(except when eating) and we are playing by the rules to stay healthy and always

RED HAT HAPPY.
