On March 10th eight members met at Brother's in Wakefield for our meeting of the month. Masks were on, and distancing still applied; and we adhered to the rules as we have done for the past year. And it has been a long year! At this point some of us have had two Covid shots while other members received one shot, with one more to come.
We spoke of places that would be opening soon ,and we spoke of St. Patrick's day where we planned to go on the 17th.
Our last party type function was March 17th 2020; and we have all survived by behaving. Oh, we plan on continuing to behave (well pretty much so) within the limits of our Red Hat thinking.

One of the gentlemen at another table was kind enough to climb up on a chair to get this memorable picture for this issue.
March 17th just one year from our last real Red Hat celebration and we are finally getting to do it again.
We joined at Bunratty's in Reading to start a new year of good times. One of our members took a chair at sat outside Bunratty's at 10:15am. The restaurant opened at noon and we were first in line as the rest of the group arrived at 11:30.
There was a line waiting to get in and everyone was happy and smiling; many being there first time out really. It was a pleasant day and we laughed and enjoyed the company of other people in shades of green.

The traditional corned beef and cabbage was number one on the menu, and the plates came loaded with corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots. Unfortunately the food did not arrive hot and had to be sent back,.We tapped our toes to the piped in Irish music and enjoyed our usual great conversations.
The food was excellent with each of us taking home a doggie bag.
Another Happy Red Hat day; and some of us even went for ice cream. Hey we are Red Hatters, and we do enjoy ourselves.
We hope you do too.. Continue to stay safe....Mask Up Melrose!
