The Week Ahead: Free Movie Night, Ice Cream Party and More

Events and meetings taking place this week in Melrose.

Here's some of what's happening in Melrose this week:

  • The Melrose Public Library will hold an ice cream party on Thursday, Aug. 12 to celebrate the end of the summer reading program.

  • "Finding Nemo" will be shown at Memorial Hall on Wednesday, Aug. 11 as part of the city's free movie nights summer program.

  • Bingo will be played at the Milano Senior Center on Wednesday, Aug. 11, organized by the Melrose Emblem Club #89. The games are open to the public.

  • A "Cast of Faith" Drama Night will be held by Christ Embassy New England at Memorial Hall on Saturday, Aug. 14. The evening is filled with skits and real-life testimonies of "true stories" of individuals that have come through challenging circumstances in life.

    • The Melrose Park Commission will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 10. at 7 p.m. Note that this meeting was originally scheduled for Monday, Aug. 9 and has been rescheduled to Tuesday.
    • The Melrose School Committee will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 10. at 7 p.m.; public dialogue with the committee starts at 6:15 p.m.
