Wakefield Man Accused of Shoplifting at Whole Foods Market in Melrose
At 7:46 p.m. Nov. 1, Melrose Police responded to Whole Foods Market on Main Street for a report of shoplifting. Store security told police that there was a shoplifter in the store. Edward J. Zani Jr., 42, of 76 West Park Dr., Wakefield, was arrested and charged with shoplifting over $100 by asportation.

3:03 p.m.: Rowe Street, report of a past hit-and-run accident.
Nov. 2
11:32 a.m.: Porter Street at Main Street, report of an accident. The caller reported being in a motor vehicle accident. A vehicle was towed from the scene.
1:36 p.m.: A York Terrace woman visited the police station to report that she was the victim of identity theft.
Nov. 1
1:37 p.m.: A woman walked into the police station to report an accident.
3:13 p.m.: Lebanon Street, report that a man threatened another man. A 35-year-old Malden man was summonsed on a charge of threatening to commit a crime.
Oct. 31
2:05 a.m.: West Wyoming Avenue, report of a past breaking and entering.
10:06 a.m.: A person visited the police station to report that they were a victim of a past assault and battery.
4:32 p.m.: Franklin Street at Woodland Avenue, report of an accident. Parties exchanged insurance paperwork.
4:37 p.m.: Lebanon Street at Malvern Street, report of a two-car accident. Parties exchanged insurance paperwork.
6:57 p.m.: Behind Papa Gino's on Main Street, report of a group of kids holding another up against a wall during a possible fight. No arrests made.
8:05 p.m.: Ashcroft Road at First Street, report of about 30 kids throwing eggs at homes and vehicles. Kids located and told by police to move along.
9:15 p.m.: East Foster at Lebanon Street, report of a robbery. The caller described the suspect as a man "wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue and white bandana, a back pack, blue jeans, possible accent, standing between 5'8" and 5'10."
