With more than 10,000 residents already having submitted ballots, early voting continues through Friday. Voting is taking place at Memorial Hall, Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
The School Committee is expected to vote Tuesday on Superintendent Julie Kukenberger's proposal to add 18 early-release days between elementary and middle school students — all on Fridays — in which dismissals would be pushed ahead an hour. Read more here.

There will be a Monday hearing regarding the residency claims of Andrew White, a Northeast Metro Tech School Committee candidate who says he lives at 35 Otis St. in Melrose. His son has said White hasn't lived there in years. Read more here.
After what was by all accounts a successful week of in-person learning for Melrose Public Schools, grade 2-12 students in Cohort 2 return to class for the first time since March.

It's officially Halloween season in Melrose. The city is sponsoring Wicked Melrose's Rise Of The Pumpkin People, where residents and businesses are encouraged to decorate with pumpkins and scarecrows. Read more here.
