YMCA of Metro North announces relocation of Stoneham Y Academy

The YMCA of Metro North, a leading provider of child care in the region, is relocating its Y Academy in Stoneham to a more convenient and accessible location at 100 A Maple Street right off the I-93 exit. The 12,000 sq. ft. and 14 classroom child care center will enroll infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. In addition to more seats for children and both indoor and outdoor play spaces, the new Stoneham location will have ample parking for pick up and drop-offs.

Its existing Stoneham property 39 Pleasant Street is currently on the market and will be sold when an appropriate buyer is found.

“We’re excited to make this move to a bigger, more accessible location,” says Katelyn Papadopoulos, Senior Branch Executive and Vice President of Child Care for the YMCA of Metro North. “Not only will it help us serve more children, but it will also allow us to continue to provide our families and those within Stoneham and surrounding communities with a safe, rewarding, and educational early learning experience for many years to come.”

The Stoneham Y Academy will continue to offer its STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics)-based curriculum to early learners and offer a safe space for children to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Its new location will be up and running on Monday, May 10.

It’s energizing to offer new facilities to our families and new spaces for our early learners to grow and thrive.”
