Young Woman Killed In Fiery Melrose Crash

The woman, in her 20s, crashed into a utility pole and tree on Franklin Street late Saturday night.

MELROSE, MA — A woman in her 20s was killed in a fiery crash on Franklin Street late Saturday night, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Melrose police Chief Mike Lyle.

The woman was not identified. She was driving to Stoneham around 11 p.m. when her vehicle veered across the street and crashed into a utility pole and tree, officials said. The vehicle caught fire.

The woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
