AAA: Gas Prices Up 6 Cents

The average price for unleaded gas in Massachusetts of $3.48 is still 10 cents lower than the national average.

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up six cents this week, according to AAA
Southern New England, whose closest office is in Framingham off Route 9.

AAA’s May 13 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.48 per gallon, six cents higher than a week ago. Prices locally are up a cent over the past month.

The current price is 10 cents less than the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.58. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was 23 cents more at $3.71.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 34 cents,
from a low of $3.35 to a high of $3.69. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up β€” every
