Annual Flutie 5K Returns to Natick This Weekend

Doug Flutie continues this annual fundraiser for the Flutie Foundation in his hometown.

NATICK, MAβ€”The Eastern Bank Flutie 5K is entering its 17th year as one of Greater Boston’s premier road race/walks to raise awareness of autism on Sunday, Oct. 2, starting at the MetroWest Medical Center in Natick.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the race kicks off at 11:20 a.m.

The 3.1 mile course continues along suburban roads, and is timed by Racewire.

Since its inception, The Flutie 5k has raised more than $1,500,000 to fund the Flutie Foundation’s programs and partnerships that are helping families with autism live life to the fullest, said the announcement. Each year, more than 1,500 people tie up the laces of their running shoes and come out to show their support in Doug’s hometown of Natick, MA. This fun, family event has become a fixture in the Metrowest community and beyond.
