Apple Computer Honors Natick Public Schools Program
District honored with the Apple Distinguished Program for 2013-14 for its 1-to-1 laptop program in grades eight to 12.

Apple Computer recognized Natick Public Schools on Friday for its laptop program.
According to Natick PS, it was honored with the Apple Distinguished Program for 2013-14 for its 1-to-1 laptop program in grades eight to 12.
"Being an Apple distinguished Program highlightsΒ our success as an innovative and compelling school district that engages students andΒ provides tangible evidence of academic accomplishment,βΒ Superintendent Peter Sanchioni said in a statement forwarded to Natick Patch.Β
AppleΒ representatives will attend the School Committee meeting on Jan. 27 to hand outΒ the award.
The Apple Distinguished Program designation is reserved for programs that meet criteriaΒ for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence, and demonstrate Appleβs vision ofΒ exemplary learning environments.

βWhile Natick has always been a high-functioning district, working as aΒ system to maximize our instructional programs and practices through the 1:1 laptop programΒ has allowed us to extend our reach and effectiveness as an educational community," Assistant Superintendent Anna Nolin said in a statement.Β "TheΒ Natick district has positioned itself as an instructional innovator.β
Natick PSΒ is in the process of creating plans for the sustainability of the 1:1 program and Β enhancing the use of technology in grades K-7.
