NATICK, MA β€” A revered local bagel bakery chain is moving into Natick.

The Bagel Table will open a store in the space that used to house the Common CafΓ©, which closed in June after struggling during the height of the coronavirus pandemic. Signs appeared over the past few days on the window advertising the impending opening of the new bagel cafΓ©.

The Bagel Table has locations in Ashland, Brighton and Chestnut Hill. The Natick location will open in September, according to the store's website.

The chain is also planning to open a store in Wayland in October. Plans for that location were announced in January.

Bagel Table sells New York-style bagels that are "crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside." If the other Bagel Table locations are a measure, there will be long lines at the Natick location.

The Ashland location frequently sees long lines on weekend mornings. On top of a selection of more than a dozen bagels, the restaurants serve sandwiches, baked goods and coffee. The signature sandwich at the Ashland location is the "Freddie from Chelsea" bagel sandwich, which includes lox, cream cheese, tomato, onion, and capers if you want them.
