MBTA OKs Natick Center Station Rebuild
The MBTA Control Board approved the $36 million project at a meeting on Monday.

NATICK, MA β A major step forward for Natick's new commuter rail station happened Monday when the MBTA Control Board approved $36 million for the project. The 30-month rebuild could begin construction before the end of the year.
When complete, the new Natick Center station will have two full-size platforms, two new elevators, and three stairways. New bike parking will be added, and the pedestrian bridges will be replaced.
The Natick Center station will remain open during construction, but there will be disruptions. The station's platforms will be demolished in stages so that a portion will always be open. But there will be at least five weekend shutdowns of the station. Trains may also single-track through the station at some points during platform construction.
