Improvements detailed for the East School park in this comprehensive plan released last year include updating the Little League baseball field, adding bleachers, updating the turf, add a new picnic area, storage area and restrooms. The $2.2 million dollar projected project plan also includes the addition of a walking path and plantings.

The recommended park improvements for the Navy Yard, according to the plan released in 2016,include replacing the little league field with two side‐by‐side 210β x 120β U10 soccer fields, which could also be used as a 210β x 135β U12 soccer field.
"This repurposing would also create enough space to create walking paths around the fields; this new 0.2 mile‐ long walkway would loop around the entire site. The improvement plans call for relocating the basketball court to the previously empty southeast corner of the site, incorporating a new playground, and
expanding the parking area to improve the overall use of this site."
