Natick Woman Named to Assumption College Women's Soccer Team

NATICK, MA - From Assumption College: The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced that Samantha Ferrera, of Natick, has earned a coveted spot on the 2017 Assumption College Women's Soccer team. Ferrera, Class of 2020, is competing during the Greyhounds' fall season, which began on September 1.

"The Assumption College Women's soccer program emphasizes athletic and academic excellence," said first-year head coach Grace Barnard. "Our priority is ensuring that student-athletes are provided ample time to pursue their undergraduate studies as well as take what we learn in practice and transfer that to games as we continue build a strong program. Following a summer of conditioning and early season practices, the team is ready to compete at the highest level of play in Division II."

With the season now underway, Assumption has started 2-0 after finishing 8-9-1 last season. This year's squad is led by senior forward Amanda Arnold, sophomore goalkeeper Alexis Nason, and junior forward Kallie Villemaire, who has already scored six goals in the first two games of the 2017 season. Last fall, Arnold was named to the NE10 First Team and the D2CCA All-East Region Second Team, while Nason earned All-Rookie honors.
