Teen Charged In Natick Hit-And-Run Due In Court
The 17-year-old was arrested on Sept. 1 for hitting a Natick couple along Washington Avenue.

NATICK, MA β The 17-year-old charged in a violent hit-and-run that severely injured a Natick couple was due in court on Thursday.
Prosecutors say the teen may have used marijuana before driving a pickup truck onto a Washington Avenue sidewalk and hitting Kimberly Gunner, 51, and Andy Colbert, 39, on Aug. 18.
The teen is being charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, leaving the scene of property damage, two counts of operating under the influence of drugs causing serious bodily injury, operating a motor vehicle without a license and failure to stop.

Because of his age, Thursday's court proceedings will not be open to the public.
Gunner, who was run over and impaled on a wooden fence, was still hospitalized this week, according to WCVB. Colbert was released from the hospital the day after the crash.

Natick and surrounding communities have mounted fundraisers to support Gunner's recovery. A GoFundMe fundraiser is seeking to raise $200,000 because the couple's Natick home may need to be renovated to accommodate a wheelchair.
