Tesla Pushes to Keep Natick Store Open
The Massachusetts Automobile Dealers Association is suing the town and the company for selling cars straight to consumers.

It's been more than a year since the Natick Board of Selectmen received a formal complaint from theΒ Massachusetts Automobile Dealers Association regarding Tesla's dealership license in the mall, but the lawsuit against the town continues still.
In the mean time, Rep. David Linsky (D-Natick), has filed legislation that will allow the company to continue selling their cars in the store while the work through the legal process according to the Boston Herald.
The auto dealers are suing Tesla saying that because the company sells directly to the consumer in their showroom, not using an independent dealer, all sales are at sticker price and the consumer loses because there is no competition to drive down prices.

The Herald reports that in January a superior court judge threw the case out, but the dealers are appealing that decision.
In Texas Tesla is pursuing legislation that would allow them to open stores using their current format,Β but according to CNN Money the legislature failed to make a decision during their legislative session.
