Virginia Greene, RN, Restaurant Owner, Dies at 85

Greene, born in Natick, owned the Klondike Restaurant in North Grafton.

NATICK, MA - Virginia I. (Manericho) Greene, 85 of Ashland, and formerly of Natick, died Thursday, December 17, 2015 at her home.

She was the beloved wife of Richard P. Greene sharing 61 years of marriage.

A resident of Ashland for 43 years she was born in Natick the daughter of the late Pasquale and Teresa (Romanelli) Manericho.

Mrs. Greene was a Registered Nurse graduating from the Newton Wellesley School of Nursing and worked at the Fontbonne Bethany Health Care Center in Framingham. She was a wonderful cook and fulfilled a lifetime dream of opening a restaurant with her family named the Klondike Restaurant in North Grafton in the 1990’s.

She devoted to her Catholic faith and taught CCD at St Cecilia’s Parish for many years.

Most important to her was her family whom she cherished, and was so proud and happy to spend time her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she is survived by six children, Paul C. Greene and his wife Ana of Worcester, Ellen Greene and her husband Dave Myles of Southborough, Richard Greene of Southborough, William Greene and his wife Anne of Whitinsville, Joanna Greene of Medway, Nora Hawkins and her husband Bryan of Milford, two sisters Francis Keily of North Attleborough, Patricia Manericho of Natick, 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday, December 21st at 10:30 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Church at 11:30 A.M. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Interment St Patrick Cemetery.
