Walking Toward a Cure
Natick Collection hosts a 5K walk for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Sunday drew people from all over the state to participate in the Muscular Dystrophy Muscle Walk at the .
The event raised money for research and services for people with any of more than 40 neuromuscular diseases.
The couple of hundred walkers who turned up heard a DJ playing dance music, a local yogi helping people stretch before the walk and even an emcee. Dave Spellman, director of healthcare service out of the Westborough MDA office was taking team pictures.

Teams ranged in age from infants to the golden years, and included both humans and canines. One of the most popular teams was Bailey's Dogs with MD, which consisted of a Carla Cummings of Peabody and her family, which includes three yellow Labrador retrivers with the dog version of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
The walk started with a lap around the Collection led by a Framingham firefighter on bagpipes and Mary Leeman, health care coordinator for MDA, who works out of the Canton MDA office. The 5K took walkers for four laps around the lower level of the mall.
