NATICK, MA β€”A little over a year after opening, the Wayfair furniture store at the Natick Mall will close this month, according to the Boston Business Journal.

The store opened in August 2019, and will close by the end of December, the business journal reported. About 12 people will lose their jobs.

The store is located on the first floor of the mall. Customers could buy furniture off the shelves, or take advantage of the "Home Bar," an in-store design service that used virtual reality.

The closure is the latest in a series at the Natick Mall. Two major anchor stores, Lord & Taylor and Neiman Marcus, have either left or are planning to leave the mall. Sur La Table also closed its Natick store. There are also plans underway to bring Level 99, an immersive gaming center, to the bottom floor of the mall where the Sears used to be located.
