Applications For Emergency Rental Assistance In Town Of Needham

The Town of Needham is providing short-term rental payment assistance to Needham residents who have lost income due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Town appropriated $120,000 in Community Preservation Act funds which is being combined with a $50,000 grant the Foundation for MetroWest secured from the MA Covid-19 Relief Fund for a total budget of $170,000. The Program will provide 50% of a household's monthly rent with a maximum monthly payment of $1,500 for up to 3 months. Renters earning at or below 80% of area median income (AMI) will be eligible and must demonstrate loss of income due to the pandemic. Applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until all of the funds have been committed.
