Boston Childrenβs Museum Celebrates 100th Anniversary This Weekend
The three-day event kicks off on Friday and continues all weekend long.

The Boston Childrenβs Museumcelebrates its Centennial this weekend with three days of events to celebrate the 100th birthday of the museum.
The museum is the second oldest of its kind and one of the largest childrenβs museums in the world. It was founded in 1913 by the Science Teachersβ Bureau, a group of visionary educators dedicated to providing new resources for both teachers and students. One hundred years later, it continues to be a center for the exchange of materials and ideas to advance the teaching of science.
To celebrate, the museum invites everyone to take part in itβs 100th celebration.

Friday, Oct. 4, 5-9 p.m.Β

The celebration starts Friday with music and a dance party for all ages to enjoy.
Powered by theΒ ICA DJ Collective,Β Urbanity Dance,Β Lilβ Phunk, andΒ Boston Childrenβs Chorus, activities will include a DJ battle, generation themed dance lessons and dance battles, and the 500 member Boston Childrenβs Chorus singing βI Amβ written and composed specifically for the 100th Birthday of the Museum.
Saturday Oct. 5, 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Β
Saturdayβs events start early for the little ones and go until the wee hours of the morning for adults.
Daytime programs for children and adults include live animal presentations, KidStage plays, visiting artists, an outdoor National Grid Tinker Tent filled with science and hands-on making and fixing activities, and performers includingΒ Revels,Urbanity Dance, an Afro-Brazilian Ensemble, andΒ Iskwelahang Pilipino Rondalla.
The day culminates with βUp Too Late,β a party for adults with music, dancing, improv, food and drink.
Sunday October 6, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.Β
On Sunday, events continue with visiting artists, live animals, New Balance games, and performersΒ Karen Montanaro,Β Boston Bhangra, as well as Boston Ballet senior students.
