Meatless Monday with Dave Becker, chef-owner of Sweet Basil and Juniper, by all measures was a great success! The takeout meatless meal from Juniper was delicious and the cooking class on Zoom was classic Daveβ€”entertaining and informative.

The event generated a donation of $3,000 from Meatless Monday Needham to the Needham Community Council Food Pantry. Juniper and its staff received a financial boost as well, from the sale of 100 dinners-for-2 and generous tips from the attendees.

Meatless Monday Needham encourages eating more plant-based meals. It is a project of the League of Women Voters Needham, Green Needham, and the Needham Community Farm with additional participating organizations. Take the Meatless Monday Needham Pledge to cut out meat one day a week for 12 weeks at meatlessmondayneedham.org.
