Helen Morgan, Longtime Needham Resident, Helped Developed Apollo Space Program

Services for Helen Morgan are this week.

Helen F. Morgan, of Needham and Marstons Mills died on August 16, 2014 in Cape Cod Hospital.

She was the daughter of Florence F. and Charles H. Morgan. Born in Syracuse NY in 1919 she was raised in Berkley CA, and Brookline. She graduated from Brookline High and the Chamberlain School of Retailing. Helen was a Needham resident for over 50 years. She worked for the Charles Stark Draper Lab, MIT and was instrumental in the development of the NASA Apollo space program from its inception, earning many awards to honor her contribution. Her love of her home in Marstons Mills on Cape Cod was well known. She leaves behind her longtime friend Deborah C. Almy.

A Memorial Service will be at the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham, on Thursday August 21st at 11 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will take place at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence RI at a later date.
