Hit And Run Investigation; OUI Arrest: Needham Police Log

Here are some of the calls Needham police receive.

NEEDHAM, MA β€” Here's a sample of some types of calls the Needham Police Department respond to each day from the police logs, which are public. No arrests were made last week but multiple incidents were reported.

Arrests do not imply conviction and just because someone reports a crime does not mean it happened that way.

Monday, Jan. 13

11:30 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to Parkman way for a report of a past hit and run. The matter is under investigation.

3:00 p.m.: An officer responded to a Great Plain Ave bank for the report of an attempted fraud. After meeting with the reporting person it was discovered that someone used their information to attempt to cash a check in their name out of state. The transaction was cancelled before any money was transferred. The incident is under investigation.

5:30 p.m.: An officer made a traffic stop on Highland Ave by the Speedway. The owner of the car, a 46-year-old Providence woman, was charged with operating an unregistered Motor Vehicle.

Time Not Noted: A Needham resident went into HQ to report that earlier in the day she was hit by a car on Highland Ave and sustained minor injuries. The car fled the area.

7:00 p.m.: Officers responded to the area of 65 4th Ave for a pedestrian shit by a car. After an investigation, a 31-year-old Roslindale male, will be charged with Negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation.

Tuesday, Jan. 14

1:15 a.m. An officer was on patrol on Central Ave at Nehoiden St. and stopped a motor vehicle. After a brief investigation the driver, a 34-year-old Needham man was issued a citation for operating after license suspension.

7:35 a.m.: An officer responded to a report of a missing child at a Nehoiden St. residence. The child was found in the home. No further issues at this time.

12:45 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a Crawford Street business for a suspicious phone call. Upon investigation, the matter involved was civil in nature. Both parties were advised to speak with attorneys.

3:20 p.m.: Officers responded to 5 TV Place address for a report of two suspicious parties filming outside. The man and woman were spoken to and left the scene without incident.

Friday, Jan. 17

9:00 a.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop on Highland Ave for an expired inspection sticker and defective equipment. Upon querying the driver and car it was determined that the operator did not have a valid license. The operator a 29-year-old woman from Bridgewater will be summoned to Court for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

Time Not Noted: Officers responded to a Needham home for a person who had given their personal information out over the phone. The matter is under investigation.

4:00 p.m.: Officers responded to a 1st Avenue business for an ex-employee causing a disturbance. The person was advised he had to leave and was no-trespassed from the premises without further issue.

Time not noted: Officers responded to a Hawthorn Ave home for the report of identity fraud. The resident was given advice on how to protect their passwords.

5:20 p.m.: An officer stopped a car for marked lanes violation. After a brief investigation the operator, a 65-year-old Needham woman, was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol.

Saturday, Jan. 18

An Officer took a walk-in report of a past incident of identity fraud. The person was working with his bank to rectify the issue. The matter is under investigation.
