Needham Basketball Star Named Boston Globe Player Of The Year

NEEDHAM, MA — One of the best high school basketball players in the area has been reconized by the Boston Globe.

Needham’s Thomas Shaughnessy was named one of five Boston Globe players of the year. The senior will attend Brown in the fall.

Shaughnessy averaged 21 points, 5.5 assists and two steals per game this season.

The Rockets finished the season with a record of 19-4 and advanced to the Division 1 South semifinals.
