Needham Community Council Fund Drive Begins
Brochures about the annual push for fundraising coming in the mail.

Your mailboxes may be soon stuffed with a chance to help those in town. The Needham Community Council announced its annual fund drive in its October newsletter.Β
Brochures detailing the various activities and services the Community Council provides are coming in the mail. A correspondingΒ donation form is available on their website.Β
While the Community Council has a food pantry and a thrift shop, there are other sources of income for the local non-profit. This fund drive, and other donations like that ofΒ 8-year-oldΒ Brendan Mawhinney, whoseΒ seashell sale raised $105 for the Needham Community Coucil, which he donated in person at the end of September.Β
The Community Council helps 200 NeedhamΒ families on a regular basis. The food comes from Needham residents, and the Pantry is staffed by volunteers.Β October 7, the Council will change to a new format for the food pantry. Where they have been giving clients a shopping list with items, they will begin bringing clients to shop in the newly organized grocery store-style pantry area.Β
The money raisedΒ will go to fund operations at the center.
