Needham Group Drafts Statement For Town Vision Of Racial Equality

NEEDHAM, MA — The Needham Unite Against Racism Initiative is drafting a vision statement and guiding principles for achieving racial equity in Needham.

The group is accepting feedback on the statement at a public meeting on Monday.

The full draft statement and principles are available online and read in part:

"Needham will be a community free of racism, racial bias, prejudice and

discrimination. Our residents, schools, businesses, organizations and
government will work together to identify barriers and create solutions,
opportunities, resources and support leading to racial equity."

The final recommendation will be submitted and reviewed by Needham's Select Board for adoption.
