Needham High School Students Receive Volunteer Award

Six Needham High School students were awarded for their volunteer service on the Needham Community Farm.

NEEDHAM, MA β€” Six Needham High School students were awarded for their volunteer service on the Needham Community Farm. Rep. Denise Garlick, a longtime supporter of Needham Community Farm, presented the Farm’s Youth Volunteer Awards during a ceremony in October.

The awards are presented annually to local student volunteers who dedicate a substantial number of volunteer hours over the course of the spring, summer and fall seasons, above and beyond those of typical Needham Community Farm volunteers. In addition to typical farm jobs, these youth took on more complex roles at the farm, including serving as leaders and mentors to younger students.

The Needham Community Farm is a nonprofit organization that donates all produce grown at the farm to individuals and families in our community who may not have consistent access to fresh, locally grown produce.
