Needham Hires First Woman Department of Public Works Director

NEEDHAM, MA — Needham's own Carys Lustig was officially named the Director of Public Works. Lustig is the first woman in town to hold the position.

Lustig is a Needham native who has worked for the town for over 12 years, according to her Linkedin profile.

She served as interim director of public works for six months before being officially appointed to the position. She is the fifth director of DPW the town has had.

Before taking over as director of DPW, Lustig served as director of finance and administration for public services, acting director of facility operations and supervisor of administration for the DPW, among other things.
